2010 MINI STOCK
Notice:
All components are subject to inspection and approval of Track
Officials. No equipment will be
considered as having been approved by reason of having passed through inspection
unobserved. ALL RULES WILL BE INTERPRETED
BY TRACK OFFICIALS. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT RULES, CALL BEFORE BUILDING
CAR.
DRIVER
RESTRAINT:
1. Aluminum
racing seat is required, with rib supports is recommended. Seats must be
securely mounted to chassis, not floor pan, with a minimum of four 3/8"
bolts. Seat may not be positioned further back than doorpost.
2. 5 point
safety harnesses are required. Required: S.F.I. tag must be legible. Must be
bolted to the roll cage and frame with a minimum bolt size of ½ inch bolts.
3. A window net
is mandatory. No sprint car nets.
4. All helmets
must be a full face, current Snell 90 or newer sticker in it. Snell SA90 &
SA00 legal.
5. All drivers
are required to wear a driving suit. No nomex coveralls will be allowed. Neck
brace is mandatory for drivers. Driving gloves and driving shoes are required.
WEIGHT: Minimum weight will be
2000lbs with driver after race.
ELIGIBLE
MODELS:
Any compact car or mini-pickups originally produced with a four-cylinder motor.
CHASSIS: Front firewall, rear
firewall on V.W. and floor pan must remain stock. Uni-body may be tied together
with tubing only in conjunction with stock uni-body parts. Stock wheelbase for
chassis used.
BODY: Stock OEM or aluminum
body. All flammable material must be removed. Cutting of inner panels. Doors,
hood, trunk lid and forward of front firewall and from front of fender wells
back allowed. Stock bumpers or tubing bumpers allowed. ALL BUMPERS SHALL BE
INSPECTED FOR SHARP
EDGES. Wrecker loops or lift
cables required front and rear. Nerf bars allowed but must not extend past
tires outside edge. Radiator must be inside frame rails and isolated from
driver. Full firewall, minimum .040” metal, must be installed to cover fuel
cell and any other open areas. Spoilers allowed maximum 7” tall and width of
rear deck, .090” aluminum. No brackets or braces allowed. Front nosepiece is
allowed
ENGINE: Any four-cylinder engine
that came as standard equipment in cars eligible. No rotary or twin cams. No
super or turbo chargers. No fuel injection. Maximum 2500 cc bored .040” over
plus clearance. Stock stroke OEM crankshaft and rods. No lightening of
crankshaft or rods allowed. Rods may be polished and shot pinged and micro
grinding of crankshaft for reliability are allowed. Race cams and kits allowed
(no rollers). OEM heads only. No porting, port matching, polishing, coating or
acid porting. Heads may be milled. Oversized valves ok. Bowls may be cut using
piloted bowl hog only. Oil pans and pickups may be modified for better
lubrication. Headers are optional. Any after market intake manifold with any
two-barrel carburetor. Maximum legal rod length is 5.7
RUNNING
GEAR:
Transmissions may be interchanged between makes. Automatic transmissions must
have working torque converter. No aluminum flywheels. Steel flywheels only.
Clutch and pressure plate must be stock for make of engine used. Drive shaft
must have loop six inches behind front “u” joint. Drive shafts to be painted
white. Rear end may be locked and interchanged between makes of cars that are
eligible.
SUSPENSION: Stock upper and lower
control arms must be used, but may be shortened or lengthened for camber
adjustment and top of struts may be moved for adjustment. Shocks and mounts are
optional, only one shock per wheel. Struts may be deadened by drilling a hole
and draining the fluid and an outboard shock mounted. Strings are optional but
must be same style and size as in car, (coils in coils and leafs in leafs) no
coil-over, coil-over eliminators. Sliders are ok. Sway bars allowed but
adjustable one end only. Jack bolts allowed. Panard bar may be used if OEM for
make and model bolted in original location. Wheelbase must remain stock for chassis
used.
WHEEL
AND TIRE:
Steel wheels can be maximum 8” bead to bead. Beadlocks allowed. Any tire
allowed
FUEL
AND FUEL TANK: Gasoline only. Pump gasoline or racing gasoline only No additives may
be used.
Gasoline is a
good electrical insulator and its relative effectiveness is represented by its
dielectric constant (dc). Gasoline will be tested with dc meter. A reading not
consistent with the brand of gasoline used will initiate a warning. Any reading
greater than zero shall be caused for disqualification.
Any
fuel sample, which fails the first test, shall be retest after cleaning all
test equipment. The second test results shall be binding. Fuel cell or plastic
boat tank located in trunk inside of frame rails.
Maximum
size of 12 gallons. Minimum .040” metal firewall between driver and tank.
ROLL
BARS – MANDATORY: Roll bars must be complete cage type with at least three side bars on
left side, two side bars on right side and at least two vertical bars must be
between all side bars. There must be two bars diagonally from the top rear main
hoop to the rear frame rails. Front frame section
hoops
mandatory. All welds must be gusseted. Bars must be minimum 1 1/4” OD steel of
minimum .095” wall thickness. Uni-body must have a plate 3/16” X 6” steel
installed on floor pan or steel angle 1
½”X
1 ½”X 1/8” thick installed down sides of drivers compartment before welding
cage into place.
Paneling
may be removed for roll bar installation. The important consideration is that
the load be distributed over as large an area as possible.
