2011 Street Stock Rules

Notice: All components are subject to inspection and approval of Track Officials. ALL RULES WILL BE INTERPRETED BY TRACK OFFICIALS. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT RULES, CALL BEFORE BUILDING CAR.

DRIVER RESTRAINT

1. Aluminum racing seat is required, with rib supports recommended. Seats must be securely mounted to chassis, not floor pan, with a minimum of four 3/8" bolts. Seat may not be positioned further back than doorpost.

2. 5 point safety harnesses are required. Required: S.F.I. tag must be legible. Must be bolted to the roll cage and frame with a minimum bolt size of ½ inch bolts.

3. A window net is mandatory.

4. All helmets must be a full face, current Snell 90 or newer sticker in it. Snell SA90 & SA00 legal.

5. All drivers are required to wear a driving suit. No nomex coveralls will be allowed. Neck brace is mandatory for drivers. Driving gloves and driving shoes are required.

WEIGHT

Minimum weight allowed is 3200 pounds after feature race with driver in car. Any ballast added to the car must be painted white with the car number on it and must be securely welded or bolted to the frame. No tie straps may be used. No liquid Ballast.

CHASSIS

Only full frame, American made cars or full-size Uni-body cars with a stock wheelbase of one hundred-eight inches or more will be allowed. No trucks allowed. Stock as OEM produced for year/make/model body.

BODY

All glass, chrome, and upholstery must be removed. The fuel cell must be a steel container with a two (2) inch by one-eighth (1/8) inch steel strap on each side, to securely mount the fuel cell. Body must be mounted in stock location. Body may be stock appearing or aftermarket. If running aftermarket body, plastic or aftermarket noses are allowed.

SPOILERS

Spoiler max height is 6" and must be attached to trunk only.

ROLL CAGE

A competition-type four (4) point roll cage is required and must be constructed with tubing that is a minimum of one and one-half (1-½) inches in diameter, with a minimum of 0.095" wall thickness. A minimum of three (3) horizontal door bars is required in the driver’s door. A minimum of three (3) horizontal door bars is required for the passenger side of the car. Three (3) driver protection bars are required in the windshield, ahead of the driver with a screen. You may run front and rear bars through the stock firewall, with one (1) kicker bar going to the frame. A radiator protection bar is optional.

NERF BARS

A single nerf bar is allowed on each side. Maximum size 1.5" x .095". May be attached to main cage only at the front and rear section of the nerf bar. This means only two (2) attachment points are allowed. No open tubing allowed. Tubing must be capped or rounded with no sharp edges. Nerf bars are allowed on the rear outside quarter panel area. Nerf bars may not extend outside of tires.

BUMPERS

Front and rear bumpers required. Stock or fabricated will be allowed. No sharp edges. Front bumper may not extend beyond outside tire width except cars with nosepieces. Fabricated bumpers may be no more than 1.75" ODx.125 wall round tube or 2x3x.125 wall rectangle. Fabricated bumpers must be capped at ends. All cars must be equipped with tow hooks or a small chain loop, front & rear, easily visible and accessible for quick hookup.

ENGINE

Maximum of 368 cubic inches Ford, Dodge, and GM are allowed.

Only cast iron blocks allowed.

GM chassis – GM block

Dodge chassis – Dodge block

ANY cast or steel crankshaft allowed. Minimum weight 48 pounds.  After market fluid dampeners allowed.

ANY steel connecting rod allowed. Aluminum rods PROHIBITED.

Pistons may be flat top (2) valve relief. NO domed pistons. Cast or forged OK. Any type pistons rings allowed. Must have a minimum of (2) compression rings and (2) oil ring. Floating wrist pins are allowed. Engine block permitted a minimum of .0 deck clearance. Piston must not hit straight edge held over cylinder while engine is cranked with starter.

Any camshaft: solid or hydraulic. No rollers. 

NO dry sump oil systems or vacuum pumps.

CYLINDER HEADS

Note: Casting numbers must remain in cylinder head or head is illegal. Retains to manufacturer, part # and intake port runner size. Also, NO o-ringing of block to mate head gasket with block and head.

Any 23 degree heads cast iron ONLY. NO more than 200cc on intake runners. 2.02 intakes and 1.60 exhaust valves maximum.

NO acid dipping, porting or polishing. Heads maybe flat or angle milled.

Screw in studs, pinning and guide plate allowed.

Any work done in the bowl area must be done with a 360 degree cut, with the valve guide as the center point.

Full roller rocker arms are allowed. Roller tip rocker arms are allowed. Polylocks are allowed. Stud girdles are allowed.

Any breather/valve cover combination is allowed.

ENGINE LOCATION

Minimum engine height is 10" from the ground to the center of the crankshaft. This will be measured on the front of the crankshaft/pulley.

ENGINE SETBACK is #1 spark plug even with ball joint or forward.

Side engine mounts may be 45-degree style, steel ONLY. Rear motor plates allowed.

Firewall setback is allowed.

CARBURETOR & FUEL PUMP

The 4412 Holley 2 BBL or Quadrojet 4 BBL only. The choke blade may be removed, but the original choke tower must be retained. No other modifications. Aftermarket air filters will be allowed. Aftermarket fuel pumps will be allowed. All pumps must mount in stock location. Cross member may be notched for fuel pump clearance only. Any intake.  No homemade.  Gasoline only.

IGNITION

Aftermarket cap, coils, rotor, plug wires, etc will be allowed. No electronic traction control devices.  H E I type only. 

ELECTRICAL

1. All cars must have an ignition switch clearly labeled.

2. The car must also have a battery disconnect switch located outside the car and easy accessible to emergency personnel. If the car is equipped with a working alternator the switch must disable alternator as well.

3. Only 1 twelve-volt battery is allowed. Battery and box must be securely mounted and enclosed if in driver's compartment or trunk.

RADIATOR

Aluminum radiators are allowed. Radiator cannot mount higher than hood or extend through hood. Electric fans are allowed. Protective loop allowed no taller than radiator and no wider than frame.

FUEL

Gasoline or racing fuel. No methanol. NO nitro-bearing additives or any other exotic additives or fuel. NO nitrous oxide.

EXHAUST

Must run mufflers no more than 100 dB at 100 feet. Must have two mufflers per car, one per header.

SUSPENSION

Leaf, composite leaf spring are allowed, coil, or torsion bar as OEM produced for year/ make/ model body. Racing springs will be allowed. Coils must be minimum 4.5" outside diameter. No coil overs. All springs must mount in stock location. One spring and shock per wheel. Spring spacers or lowering blocks for ride height adjustment will be allowed. Steel body racing or stock shocks will be allowed. No air shocks. Weight jacks, and rear leaf spring slider or shackles will be allowed. No cockpit operated shock or spring adjustment devices. No fabricated or aftermarket traction devices or suspension components. Upper control arms may be aftermarket. No fabricated 3-link or 4-link suspensions allowed.

STEERING/DRIVER LOCATION

OEM steering gearbox in stock location for frame used. Drag link, tie rods, etc., must be stock for make and model, and in stock location. Quick steer boxes will be allowed. Aftermarket pump will be allowed. Aftermarket steering wheel with disconnect will be allowed. Driver must sit in left front quadrant of racecar, no further back than doorpost

TRANSMISSION

Automatic or standard on any car. Driver must be able to put car in forward, neutral, and reverse while running. Automatic: must have working torque converter. Transmission cooler is allowed and may be attached to cage. Blanket or flex plate shield mandatory. Standard: OEM produced manual 3 or 4 speed. Scatter shields or blow proof bell housing mandatory. No Aluminum bell housing allowed! Direct drive and mini clutches are not allowed.  Powerglide allowed.  Minimum of 10.5" clutch. 

DRIVE SHAFT

Minimum 2" diameter steel drive shaft, must be painted white with car number, and must have drive shaft loop mounted 6" back from front U-joint.

REAREND

Must be locked, spool or mini spool recommended. Aftermarket axles will be allowed. 9" Ford under any body will be allowed. No limited slips such as Gold-Trac, Detroit Locker, Etc. Floaters will be allowed.

BRAKES

Minimum of three (3) wheel brakes in good working order. Four (4) wheel brakes are recommended.

One proportioning device allowed, front to rear only. Brake lines must be visible. Aftermarket pedal assemblies are allowed.

FUEL CELL

Racing fuel cells are required. No boat or stock automotive fuel tanks. Must be securely fastened inside trunk of car above level of stock trunk floor, by at least two steel straps no smaller than 1/8" by 1". A protective loop around fuel cell is mandatory. Trunk floor and wells must have drain holes cut so as not to allow spilled fuel to be trapped in trunk area. Must have rollover gas valve.

TIRES

Asphalt pull-offs only.  Durometer reading minimum 50.  Grooved and siped tires are allowed. 

WHEELS

Steel racing wheels up to 10-inch wheels will be allowed. No aluminum or mag wheels or homemade wheels are allowed. One (1) inch lug nuts are mandatory on both sides of the vehicle. Four wheel bead locks OK.

SCORING

Numbers on cars must be located on both doors, the roof, and on the back. They must be in a color, which contrasts with the color of the car. Numbers on the doors must be 24" tall and 4" wide. Numbers on the roof must be 28" tall and positioned to be read from the passenger side. Numbers on the back must be 6" for the following driver to be able to read. Numbers must be easily read by scorekeepers to insure proper placing.
