We would like to welcome all drivers and pit crews to our track. We hope that you have lots of luck and enjoy the race program we have scheduled. This is a set of our track rules and regulations that need to be read by YOU and YOUR pit crew members. Our officials are not perfect, but they are the best around and try very hard to conduct a fair and fun place to race.
1. Drivers Meeting: You must attend or have someone represent you. If you have any questions, please ask them at the drivers meeting or before the 1st race. There should be no unanswered questions by the end of the drivers meeting.
2. Pit Passes: Anyone caught in the pit area without a pit pass will be ejected for the night. The race team they are with will also be held responsible and ejected for the night and/or not paid.
3. RACEceivers: All drivers must use RACEceivers while on the track racing. If you are found without a RACEceiver, you will be fined $25.00 for each occurrence.
4. Pill Draw/Driver Check-In: All drivers MUST check in no later than 7:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. on shows that start at 2:00 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. on shows that start at 6:30 p.m.). Any driver arriving later than stated times will have to start scratch in their heat races. NO EXEPTIONS. Either DRIVER and/or CAR must be present AT TIME of check-in.
5. Drugs or Alcoholic Beverages: NO drugs or alcohol will be allowed in the pits before or during the races. If caught, you will be ejected for the night. If you or any of your pit crew members choose to purchase any alcoholic beverages from the bar, you will not be allowed back into the pits until the race night is completed.
6. Driving in Pits: NO SPEEDING coming off the track or in the pits. SPEED LIMIT IS IDLE SPEED. If a car is caught speeding, you will be fined $50.00.
7. Wheel Packing: All cars in the class specified during the drivers meeting are required to pack the track. If you do not pack the track, you will start scratch that night. Please pay close attention and follow the flagman and infield crew directions when packing the track. Leaving the track before you are flagged off the track will result in starting scratch in your heat as well as the main event. Refusing to wheel pack for any reason (besides mechanical failure) will result in starting scratch in your heat as well as the main event and points will not be rewarded to any driver that refuses to wheel pack.
8. Staging Area: All cars stage on south end of pits prior to racing, once the pit steward makes the first call. If you do not stage on time, you will start scratch. If the light is green GO. If the light is red DO NOT GO. Enter in order. We want to go green the first lap.
9. Starts and Re-starts: Anyone hot lapping before racing will start in back. Race starts in turn 4 at the white line, front two cars need to be side by side. (No Texas Starts, if you are caught you will be penalized 2 positions per car you passed at the next yellow flag. If there is no yellow flag then your penalty will be assessed at the end of the race). On the initial lap, if the first lap is not completed, you are allowed to fix your car. If you can get back on the track before the race starts-you will be allowed to tag the back (Just like a yellow).
10. Heat Races: Any car causing a yellow flag will be asked to leave the track. This will apply to all classes except Sprint cars.
11. Main Events: Any driver causing 2 yellow flags in the main event will be asked to leave the track. This applies to all classes. If a car leaves the racing surface during a race and becomes laps down then re-enters the race, they will be scored laps down until a yellow flag is displayed. At that time, the car will be sent to the back of the line-up and will receive 1 lap back and will restart in the back of the line-up for each yellow flag until all laps down are made up. One Lucky Dog will be awarded to all cars laps down per yellow.
12. Black Flag: If you are black-flagged for any reason, you must leave the racing surface immediately. Stopping to argue with the flagman or official will result in a $50.00 fine and each lap taken after will be an additional $25.00. The black flag will be given to any car for extreme rough driving or to any car deemed unsafe to race. If a crew chief wants his car black flagged off the track, he must go to the pit stand to report this.
13. Red Flag: Means STOP there is a car and/or driver in danger. Please don't stop too abruptly and cause a pile up. a) Under a red flag, you MAY work on your car only if told by track official that it is an OPEN red. If not told it is an OPEN red, please do not go out onto the track to work on your car. You must re-enter the track when told to do so. b) If you change a tire you MUST go to the back of the pack at the re-start.
14. Yellow Flag: Means caution but keep moving. If you are off the racing surface, you won't always get a yellow, so get back in the race. Yellow flag restarts are Delaware style unless instructed otherwise. The racing surface is green under the Delaware restart as soon as the flagman displays the green flag. Under yellow in main event, you may be allowed to fix your car, if time allows, a.) Delaware restarts: Leader has the lonesome pole, 2nd place chooses inside or out, 3rd place does the opposite of 2nd and 4th place and all even place cars line up on the inside row and 5th place and all odd place cars line up on the outside row. b.) Involvement Rule: Cars involved in a wreck go to the back. Involved is defined as follows: Any car making contact and/or stopping on the track, and a car that was the cause of the yellow whether or not that car stops will go to the back. Cars making minimal contact while trying to avoid the wreck, which do not stop on the track, will not be considered involved. Cars making NO contact but stop on the track to avoid the wreck, will not be considered involved and will retain their original position. If two cars have inadvertent close contact and one car spins, the spun car will go to the back. In multi-car pile ups, all cars involved go to the back.
15. Protests: All protests must be in writing, signed by the driver(s) protesting. Fee of $25.00 per driver must accompany the written protest when turned into the Pit Steward, not the tech. This must be done within 15 minutes of the checkered flag. Only the top 4 finishers may be protested, and only one item per protest. If car is found to be illegal, protester gets his $25.00 back. If car is legal, that driver gets the $25.00.
16. Rough Driving: Rough driving will not be tolerated. If you slip out of groove and someone comes under you, you may not drive back down on them. You slipped out of the groove, so hold your own line and race. If you are faster than the car in front of you, you need to pass them, not drive through them. If you inadvertently knock the car in front of you out of the groove or sideways, back off and allow them to regain their position. If it appears that you spun the car in front of you sideways to gain position, you will be black-flagged or you tag on the next yellow.
17. Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Poor sportsmanship of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes going to another drivers pit area after an incident on the track. You can tell him what a fantastic driver he/she is later, but not in the heat of the moment. Penalties or disqualification will result if you go into another pit area or cause any problems. Drivers will be held responsible for the conduct of pit crews or wife/significant other. There will be no cursing at the pay window or while in line. You will not abuse the pit steward, flagman or any other track official, or you will be ejected for the night and fined $50.00.
18. Track Officials/Tower: Any situation arising that concerns a track official should see the Pit Steward/Manager. You, your pit crew, or family members are not allowed in the announcer's tower. If you have questions, please wait till after the races to speak with any officials. A $50.00 fine will be assessed to the person or affiliated driver abusing this.
19. Rainout Policy: There will be no refunds. Pit passes are good at the next race that your class races. Completion of heat races constitutes a show.
20. Driver and/or Car Change must be reported to the Pit Steward prior to that particular race. Driver must start scratch if qualified to race. If not reported, driver and car will be disqualified for the evening.
21. Complaints are to be directed to your class officials FIRST. If they cannot give you an answer, they will contact a track official for a final decision.
22. Pits will close one hour after the last race. Winnings not picked up by that time will be returned to the track, so please get to the pay window in a timely manner. Gates will be locked and lights turned out.
23. Push Starts: If you are unable to restart under your own power, you will go to the back of the field unless you are stopped by an official in which case you will be allowed a push start and will retain your position prior to being stopped. This goes for all classes. If you are aware of the fact that your car will not restart KEEP YOUR ENGINE RUNNING.
24. Fans: If it wasn't for the fans, we wouldn't be here. Any driver, crew member, or track employee who is the instigator of abuse on a fan whether it's verbally or physically will be ejected, fired, and fined $100.00. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
25. Young Drivers: Any persons wishing to race and are under the age of 16 MUST go through a orientation period and be signed off by track owners before being allowed to compete
26. ATV's: The use of ATV's in the pits is a privilege. ATV's are allowed in the grandstand area UNLESS you are moving a car to show before the races. No showboating, No speeding (speed limit for ATV's is 5 mph), No nonsense!!
SPEEDARAMA CLASS RULES 2014
PURE STOCKS/FACTORY STOCKS: For 2014 Speedarama will combine Pure Stock (Battleground rules) and Factory Stock (Ark-La-Tex rules) as one class to be raced together. Racer must pick one class and follow that class rule. Tech will check that rule at end of race. This rule will be reviewed at mid-season. The minimum age requirement for Pure –Factory Stocks is 14 years of age. All minors must have a notarized release form signed by a legal guardian/parent.
PURE STOCK RULES:
BODY/FRAME: 1. American made passenger cars or trucks as described. Metric frame cars are allowed. Nova’s, S-10 and Ford Ranger pick-ups are allowed. No front wheel or four wheel drive vehicles allowed. Metric framed station wagons are permitted with enclosed rear compartment. No other makes or models will be accepted. No Camaro, Cadillac, town cars, mustang or corvette. No commercial vehicles, convertibles or sports cars. Altering original frame wheelbase is not allowed. Minimum wheel base is 108” per OEM specifications. Allowance to 107.5 + or - 1" for caster adjustment will be allowed at the technical inspection pad. 2. Fenders may be cut for tire clearance only. Space between fender and tire shall not exceed 7” anywhere around the tire. 3. Body sheet metal must be in place at the beginning of each race event and kept in a professional appearance throughout the season. 4. Doors must be welded or bolted shut. 5. All glass, fiberglass, plastic and trim must be completely removed from the car. 6. Full floor pans along with both full front and rear firewalls are mandatory. No cockpit type or interior decking is allowed as a replacement for floor pans. 7. Roof, Hood and Trunk must remain steel. Quarter panels, doors and front fenders may be constructed of Aluminum. Hoods and Trunks must be secured with hood pins at all times. No holes allowed in hood except for hood pin holes. 8. All openings in the car that could propose a safety hazard to the driver must be sealed shut at all times. 9. Stock OEM bumpers are required for the make and model of the car. Bumper loops are also required in front and rear to protect the radiator and fuel cell. The bumper loops will be constructed of tubing made from 1 ½ OD x .095 wall thickness with a maximum height of 6” tall and no wider than the frame. After market nose may be used but must be installed in a vertical position. If an aftermarket nose is used, a tubular bumper may be used and is allowed to extend to the full width of the nose, but must be mounted inside the nose. If an OEM bumper is used, the bumper cannot extend outside beyond the frame horns. Rear bumper can be fabricated but to stock size
ROLL CAGE: 10. Roll bars must be constructed of 1.5” O.D. x 0.95” steel tubing minimum. Main roll bar and halo must be a minimum of 1” higher than the driver’s helmet. Minimum of three (3) door bars on the driver side and a minimum of two (2) door bars on the passenger side. FRONT LOOP IS ALLOWED TO PROTECT RADIATOR BUT MUST NOT EXTEND FORWARD OF THE FRONT OF THE HOOD. RADIATOR CORE SUPPORT MAY BE REMOVED. Maximum size for front loop is 1.5” O.D., .095” tubing. All roll cage welds must be complete and pass safety inspection by tech officials. Floor pan may be cut for cage and sub-frame connectors, but must be replaced by a minimum of 20 gauge steel. X-bracing under the driver (frame-to-frame) is allowed. 11. A single Rub Rail is allowed on each side of the car. Maximum size is 1.5"X 0.95". Must be attached to the main cage at the front and rear section of the Rub Rail. This means only (2) attachment points are allowed on the Rub Rail. Single Rub Rail allowed on the rear quarter panel areas but can not be welded to Bumper. Rub Rails may not extend into wheel well areas. 12. A lift loop (cable or chain) is mandatory and must be installed on the front so to enable the car to be picked up by the wrecker if required in the front. Rear bumpers must be capable of holding up car in the event of a rear tow by the wrecker.
ENGINE: 13. Compression rule is 160 PSI cranking compression. Compression must not exceed 160 psi with all spark plugs removed and engine turned over 5 revolutions. 14. Straight or V-6 engines within 11 cubic inches of factory specs allowed. V-8 engine with maximum 364 cubic inches allowed. All engines must be installed and remain in stock location. Stock style motor mounts are mandatory. May use steel replacement OEM style motor mounts, but must bolt into ACTUAL stock location and stock location bolt holes. NO OFFSET ENGINE MOUNTS. Stock cast iron OEM blocks only. No machining in lifter valley (except for oil flow drain openings) or in lifter bores. Engine components must be stock, or stock appearing. No lightening of cranks allowed. No knife edge, no bull nosing, undercut or drilling of second or third rod journal throws allowed. Rods must be 5.7” only. 3:48” stroke only. Crankshaft weight is 49 lbs minimum. No high performance rotating assembly parts allowed. CAST OR FORGED PISTONS ALLOWED, BUT MUST BE STOCK APPEARING. Two or Four valve relief pistons allowed. Aftermarket Engine bolts are legal in 2014. 15. Must have 1” sight plug in oil pan between second and third pan bolt on the driver’s side. ***Engine must hold 14” of vacuum at 1200 rpm’s.
CYLINDER HEADS: 16. Cylinder heads must be stock for year, make and model. (305 on 305, 350 on 350, etc.) No closed or partially closed chambered heads, maximum 1.94 intake valves and 1.50 exhaust valves. No Vortec heads. No aluminum heads. Heads may be flat milled for surfacing reasons only. No angle milling. Rocker studs may be pinned. Screw in studs will also be permitted. Casting numbers must remain in heads. No interior de-burring or grinding allowed. No Acid dipping or alterations allowed. Any stock single valve spring with dampeners are allowed. No Double, Triple or Beehive style springs allowed. No porting, polishing, port matching or coatings of any type allowed. No aluminum or titanium components allowed. Full roller rocker arms and/or roller tip rockers are not allowed. Poly-locks are allowed. Stud girdles & guide plates are not allowed.
INTAKE MANIFOLDS: 17. Both Quadrajet and Holley #4412 may use a stock OEM 4 barrel Cast Iron or OEM low profile 4 bbl. Aluminum Intake. OPTION: A Holley # 4412 Carb in the Pure Stocks will be allowed to run a Victor JR. 2BBL. Intake. (Victor Jr. Part # 2901 only). No de-burring or grinding allowed. No porting or polishing of any kind. Blocking of heat risers and EGR holes allowed. Most brand, style or size air cleaner is allowed. No type of RAM air or forced air induction will be allowed. Any valve cover combination allowed.
CARBURETOR: 18. Rochester Quadrajet: No adapters or spacers allowed with the Quadrajet. A single carb gasket only installed between the 4 bbl. Intake and carb. 19. Holley # 4412 on stock cast iron 4bbl. or stock, low profile aluminum 4bbl. intake. A 2” spacer/adapter allowed. Two gaskets allowed with spacer. (One gasket allowed between the carb and spacer; the other between the spacer and 4bbl. Intake manifold). 20. Holley #4412 with Victor Jr. Intake (Part # 2901) No spacer or adapter allowed when using the Victor Jr. # 2901 intake. One gasket allowed between the Victor Jr. intake and the # 4412 carb only. Carbs: Must pass go/no-go gauges.
FUEL: Gas Only, no additives. Camshaft: 21. Any Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cam, Lifter, Push Rod & Legal Rocker Arm Combination is allowed as long as the total lift does not exceed .450. No Roller Cams, Lifters or Rockers allowed. (This measurement will be taken at the retainer). Lifters must be stock OEM hydraulic type. Lifters may not exceed Stock OEM size.
EXHAUST: 22. Exhaust manifolds must be stock cast iron only. No corvette style, (2.5 port exhaust) marine type or center dump exhaust manifolds not allowed. No porting, polishing, acid treatment or coatings. Exhaust pipes must extend past drivers compartment. Exhaust piping with a turndown is mandatory. Non-Metric cars will be allowed to run the 2" maximum diameter center dump style cast iron manifolds that were available on earlier model GM trucks for 2014.
WATER PUMP: 23. Cast iron water pump is required. Pulleys may be aluminum after market. Fan must be steel and attached to water pump. Fan spacers may be used. An additional electric cooling fan may be used to assist cooling under yellow flag periods, but not replace stock fans, pulleys or belt components.
IGNITION: 24. Must remain and be completely stock OEM replacement parts only. Stock HEI ignition is allowed. No MSD modules, no MSD systems or any aftermarket or GM ignition boxes allowed. Fuel Pump: 25. Must be stock OEM style fuel pump installed in stock location. Carter and Holley manual style are allowed. Stock OEM Push rod activated lever style only.
FUEL TANK: 26. Fuel Tank must be securely mounted in trunk of car between frame rails. All cars must have a steel constructed fuel cell with a bladder. Maximum capacity of fuel cell is 22 gallons. All fuel cells must have a roll-over valve. No plastic boat tanks.
BRAKES: 27. Brake system must remain stock OEM to make and model. No aftermarket components allowed on any spindles or hubs. One aftermarket master cylinder and pedal may be used but must remain in OEM location with no extension on the push rod or relocation of the pedal assembly. Car must have a minimum of 3 wheel brakes in working order at all times. No proportioning valves. Rear disc brakes are highly recommended for safety reasons.
TRANSMISSION: 28. All Automatic Transmissions must have a working 10“ minimum converter with no modifications. CAR MUST BE ABLE TO SIT IN GEAR WITH BRAKES BEING APPLIED AT 1,500 RPMS without killing motor. All forward gears must be in working order on all transmissions plus a neutral and working reverse. No over-drive transmissions. All standard transmissions must be OEM stock with all forward gears and reverse in working order, and minimum 10.5” clutch, pressure plate, and full size stock steel flywheel. Standard transmissions must have a ¼” steel plate covering the bell housing 180 degrees over the sides and top of clutch assembly or a blow proof bell-housing. No aluminum or light weight flywheels, no 5 or 6 speed standard transmissions, no overdrives. Transmission coolers okay, but must be installed away from driver’s sight.
DRIVESHAFT: 29. All drive shafts must be steel and painted white. Drive shaft must have safety loop within 6” of the front U-joint. No chain loops allowed.
REAREND: 30. Must be stock OEM for make, and year of car. Any gear ratio is allowed as long as the housing doesn’t have to be altered. Rear end must be locked. Mini spools are ok. No limited slip or posi-traction devices.
STEERING: 31. Quick Steers are allowed. Aftermarket steering shaft and quick release steering wheel is recommended.
SUSPENSION: 32. Suspension parts must remain stock for year, make and model. No modification to any suspension component. No adjustable or non-adjustable spring spacers. Racing shocks allowed but must have OEM style shock ends. No Heim joint mounting style shocks. Bushings may be replaced with stock style OEM type only. Racing springs allowed (steel only). Leaf springs may use lowering blocks. Leaf springs must be made of steel only. Non Metric cars will be allowed to use tubular upper a-arms providing they are mounted in the stock OEM location and are dimensionally the same as OEM. Pure Stocks will be allowed to run IMCA type upper control arms. Control Arms must be mounted in the Stock OEM location.
TIRES: 33. Hoosier stamped G60’s, American Racer KK/704’s or Factory Stock Legal Asphalt Pull Offs. Grooving, Grinding and/or Siping is allowed on any of the three legal tires listed above. Asphalt Pull Offs must be Factory Stock legal in size and any tire when checked must produce a Durometer reading of 51 or higher whenever checked.
WHEELS: 34. Any 8” steel wheel permitted. NO light weight wheels permitted. 5/8 studs and 1” lug nuts are mandatory. bead locks allowed on Right Rear. Wheel spacers will be allowed. Mud Plugs or mud protectors are allowed on right sides only. 35. Weight: 3,300 lbs. with driver.
SAFETY: 36. Racing seats with rib supports are required. Seats must be securely mounted to chassis, NOT FLOOR PAN, with a minimum of four (4), 3/8” bolts. 5 point safety harness are required, S.F.I. tag must be legible and no more than 5 years old. Straps must NOT be frayed in any way. Connectors must lock and unlock freely. Belts must be bolted to the roll cage and/or frame with a minimum bolt size of 1/2” bolts. A window net is required. Sprint car window nets allowed only when accompanied with arm restraints. All helmets must be full-face type. Helmets with current Snell 90 or newer stickers on it are mandatory. (Snell’s sa90 and sa00 are legal). All drivers are required to wear a driving suit. No nomex coveralls will be allowed. Neck brace is MANDATORY for all drivers. Driving gloves and driving shoes are recommended. Roll Bar Padding must be installed on any bar that is within reach of the driver once they are buckled into the seat.
SCORING: 37. Numbers must be 24” high and 4” wide on both sides of car and 28” tall on the roof and positioned so it can be read from the passenger side. Cars must be painted and numbered neatly and to be seen easily by the scorekeepers. The number on the roof is the most important number. Reflective vinyl is not recommended for roof application due to the poor read ability. All numbers must be of different color than background. When positioning the number on the roof, it should be readable from the scoring tower.
RACECEIVERS: 38. Raceceivers are mandatory for all classes in 2014.
BODY:Any American made stock passenger car body on a stock unaltered full frame,or Chrysler unibodies.NO front wheel drives. Rear of car must be sealed off,no exposed fuel cell.NO spoilers(even if factory equipped).wings,skirts,airscoops,hood scoops,or anything that alters stock appearance.Bodies cannot be moved from the orginial rubber bushing more than+/-1".A front visor is allowed.Sunroofs and T-tops must be reinforced and enclosed.No nerf bars.Maximum one inch wide by two inch tall steel or lexan rub rails allowed-bolted flush to body also on Rear Qtr. All glass,plastic,upholstery,lights,mirrors,and trim must be removed.Cars must be stock appearing.NO cutting,channeling,shortening,or modifying is allowed.NO excessive trimming of fenders or hoods allowed,must maintain stock appearance. NO enclosed interiors,or decking allowed.Cars without stock steel front fenders,hood and windshield post must add 20lbs in front of the engine.NO part of dash must remain in stock location and be full and complete. Cars must have a complete stock approval.Race car body should be maintained in such a manner as to keep a presentable appearance.
BUMPERS: Stock type rear bumper required or a fabricated front bumper may be used with the following conditiions: cars WITH AFTERMARKET NOSE PIECES-the bumper may extend past frame rails for suppport and reinforcement.Must be behind nose pieces.Cars WITHOUT NOSE PIECES-the bumper may not extend past front frame horns.NO SHARP EDGES.
ROLL CAGES: Minimum four-point cage,minimum size 1 1/2 "O.D.by .095" wall thickness.Minimum three bars in drivers side door and two bars on passenger side door .Four point quick release seal belt and harness required for driver and passenger.Racing seats required.Mush have window nets and firesuit for driver and passenger.Must have three bars in front of driver in windshield area.
ENGINE:Must be stock for the make and model except no 400"s or larger small or big blocks.Cast piston only.Chevy may use 2 or 4 valve relief pistons. Aftermarket water pump,mini starter,pulleys,harmonic balancer and oil pans okay.Aftermarket power steering pumps okay.Metric cars may run on 350.NO stroking or de-stroking.Engine must compression 175 lbs.(ignition off,engine turned over 5 times.)364CI MAX.
CAMSHAFT,VALVE TRAIN AND CYLINDER HEADS:Hydraulic can and flat tapper lifters only.Must maintain 14"of vacuum at 1200rpm.1.94 maximum intake valve diameter,1.50 maximum exhaust valve diameter on Chevrolet engines.Stock size valve springs and stock length and diameter pushrods only. Stamped steel 1.5 rockers on Chevy,1.6 on Ford and Chrysler,NO roller tips.Open chambered heads only,must be unaltered,O.E.M..NO porting,polishing or gasket matching allowed. Screw in studs and guide plates okay.305 engines may use 305 heads.(no vortec.)
CARBURATION AND FUEL SYSTEM: Holley 4412 2-barrel only.Must be unaltered.Choke plate may be removed. 4412 must be cast into body of carb.Maximum spacer and adapter 1"combined total.Fuel pump must be in stock location for make,NO electric pumps or fuel injection even if factory equipped.
EXHAUST: Stock cast iron exhaust manifolds only. NO Chevy center dump,Corvette,or marine,or tubular steel type manifolds.
INTAKE MANIFOLD: Stock unaltered aluminum or cast iron intake only.NO aftermarket or stock high performance or high rise.NO bow ties. NO porting,polishing or gasket matching.
TRANSMISSIONS: Any stock type automatic or manual.Automatics must have working min.10" torque converter. NO direct drives.Trans.Cooler okay.Manual must have 10.5"clutch,flywheel and pressure plate must be steel. NO mini clutches. Steel drive shafts must be painted white and have a loop 6" from front u-joint.
FUEL: Pump or racing gas only.NO additives or smells.Fuel tank must be secured in trunk.Fuel cells recommended.
SUSPENSION: Front and rear suspension must be in stock for that make and model of frame.NO air shocks..NO alternations to any part of the suspension will be allowed. Any spring in stock location,no adjustable weight jacks of any kind,must sit in unaltered stock mounts. May run IMCA type upper control arms. Shocks must have stock type rubber ends,must be mounted in stock location on frame.
REAR END: Stock rear-end for make and model.Gears may be locked. Gear ratio optional.

HOBBY STOCK RULES: Chassis must be an American made passenger car only. Metric framed GM or Ford cars are allowed. Novas and Camaros are allowed. S-10 and Ford Ranger Bodies are allowed on metric frame. Station Wagons must be metric framed only with enclosed rear compartment, no other makes or models will be accepted. Station Wagons cannot enclose side windows. Frame must remain unaltered in wheelbase and width as defined by OEM original specifications. Exception to the rear: frame may be altered no less than 1” behind original rear upper shock mounts.1978-1987 metric chassis may be altered for clearance of right front tire only, with maximum alteration not to exceed one-half inch (.5”). Uni-body sub-frames may be tied together. No Cadillac, Town Cars, Mustang or Corvette Chassis allowed. No commercial vehicles, convertibles or sports cars. Altering original frame wheelbase is not allowed. Minimum wheel base is 108” per OEM specifications for stock factory production. Allowance to + or - 1" for caster adjustment will be allowed at the technical inspection pad. No tubed chassis.
WEIGHT: Minimum weight is 3200 pounds with driver after race.
CARBURETOR: Unaltered Holley #4412 two barrel or rochester quadrajet with adaptor no spacer on a stock 4 bbl cast iron or oem low profile 4 bbl aluminum intake. Number must be legible on air horn. Choke horn must be attached. Circle track floats may be used. No machine work on carburetor. Holley #4412 carburetors may be mounted on cast iron 4 barrel intake with an adaptor only, no spacers allowed. No other alterations are allowed. Only one carburetor allowed on engine. No injectors or pressure systems allowed. Victor junior (2901) #2bbl manifold ok, but no spacer.
GM CRATE ENGINE: may use any Holley four-barrel carburetor (maximum 650cfm), all components (float bowls and main body) must be Holley manufactured. Metering blocks and base plate may be billet aluminum non-Holley. No aerosol-style carburetors allowed. May use Speedway Motors part #545-64940 or Moroso part #64940 carburetor spacer on crate.
CYLINDER HEADS: (Compression Rule 175 psi with 5 starter hits.) Option 1: OEM GM cylinder heads only with a Minimum 68cc chamber size. No closed chamber heads except 305 heads on 305 engine only. No partially closed chamber heads. Open chamber heads only. Racecars using GM engines must run 350 heads on 350 engines, and 305 heads on 305 engines. Any open chamber cast iron steel OEM factory production straight plug head is allowed that meets the described requirements. Option 2: Vortec head casting # 10239906 or casting # 12558062 Option 3: EQ – Engine Quest GM part # CH3501 Must remain as produced, seat angles and valve sizes cannot be changed: three angle valve job only (absolutely no casting removal in valve pocket of EQ for any reason) All GM heads are limited to 1.94” intake valves and 1.50” exhaust valves. Heads may be flat milled for surfacing reasons only, no angle milling allowed. No aluminum heads, no special order heads or factory special order heads. Studs may be pinned or screwed in. Push rod guide plates are allowed. Any single valve spring with dampener is legal, no double or triple springs allowed. No Honey-Cone Springs No porting, polishing, port matching or coatings of any type allowed. No aluminum or titanium components are allowed. Any work done in the bowl area must be done with a 360 degree cut, with the valve guide as the center point. Full roller rocker arms and roller tip rocker arms are allowed. Poly-locks are allowed. Stud girdles are not allowed. Double hump heads will be allowed if they meet the same factory spec.(chamber & port)as the option 2 vortec head.
ENGINE: May be in stock location or #1 spark plug can be even with ball-joint or forward. #1 spark plug may not extend behind upper ball joint on any car. Cast iron OEM blocks only. After-market steel stock type engine mounts are allowed. No machining in lifter valley (except for oil flow drain openings) or in lifter bores. Engine components must be stock. No Chevrolet Bowtie, Ford SVO or Mopar Performance blocks. Stock stroke must be maintained within .002”. No performance parts. Stock appearing rods only. Rods should be 5.7 inch only. Stroke must equal 3.48. After-market rod bolts may be used. OEM replacement-style pistons with two (2) or four (4) valve relief. Valve relief pocket must be symmetrical in size as produced by manufacturer. No modifications to pistons are allowed. Flat top pistons or dish pistons only, no domed pistons. No total seal type rings are allowed. Maximum cubic inch displacement allowed is 364 c.i.d. Boring to a maximum of .060” over stock OEM bore is allowed. OEM or stock replacement steel or cast crankshaft. All crankshafts must have casting number, casting letters, or part number for identification. Balancing okay. No splayed main caps. Crankshaft cannot be lightened (no aero wing, bullnose, knife edge, undercut or drilling of second or third rod throws allowed). Camshaft and lifters must be hydraulic, no roller lifters. Must maintain 14" vacuum at 1200 RPM. No stud girdles. A stock oil pan or a claimer style oil pan is allowed. Oiling must be complete wet sump. No dry sump systems allowed. Oil Pan Site Plug between the 2nd and 3rd holes from the front of the motor on the driver’s side is recommended to avoid pan removal Tech. No obstructions inside the pan.
Intake Options: Cast iron or the following aluminum intakes only: (Edelbrock GM #2701, GM # 12366573, Vortec 2116, or Edelbrock 7116 or 7101.) Engine with Vortex Heads can run any dual plane intake. Adaptor only no spacer. No high-rise intakes, No Brzezinski intakes. No porting, polishing, port matching, acid porting, acid treatments or coatings of any kind. Any brand, style or size air cleaner is allowed, but no type of ram air or forced air induction will be allowed. Any valve cover combination is allowed. #2bbl victor junior (2901)and (2912). Cast iron water pump is required. Pulleys may be aluminum after-market. Fan must be steel and attached to water pump. Fan spacers may be used. An additional electric cooling fan may be used to assist cooling under yellow flag periods, but all stock fan, pulley and belt components must remain installed. After-market harmonic balancer is allowed. FORDS: 289,302, or 351 blocks only with Flat Top pistons. Any OEM Ford head is allowed. No aftermarket or Boss heads allowed. Maximum valve size is 1.94 intake and 1.60 exhaust. 2013 Engine
CRATE ENGINE: Must use unaltered sealed GM #88958602 or #19258602 crate engine. Upon inspection, any different, altered or missing GM seal bolts will result in disqualification, GM seal bolt exception is IMCA/Speedarama approved and issued cable-lock rebuild system, and oil pan may be replaced. If running 602 Crate Option, #4412 Carburetor mandatory.
IGNITION: Ignition must remain and be completely stock OEM replacement parts only. Stock HEI ignition is allowed. No MSD modules, no MSD systems or any after-market or GM ignition boxes allowed. Aftermarket starter is O.K.
EXHAUST SYSTEM: MUFFLERS ARE MANDATORY, NO ALTERING, NO EXCEPTIONS if running Headers. Any race type muffler allowed(example IMCA).
Mufflers Mandatory: LOBACK MUFFLERS or TWISTER F-SERIES MUFFLERS or Un-altered AUGER STYLE SPEEDWAY INSERT. TURN DOWNS REQUIRED ON ALL CARS MUST FACE THE GROUND, NO EXHAUST SHOULD EXIT THE SIDE OF CAR- MUST BE ON CAR AT ALL TIMES AT TRACK. Both unAltered Mufflers must be in place prior to the hot laps, heat and feature races or car will be disqualified for the night, forfeiting all winnings and will not be able to finish the race. Must use under chassis header, that meets these specifications with 1.625-inch tubes (1-5/8 inch tubes) and 3-inch collector. Note: No 180 degree, shorty or mini headers. Stock cast iron exhaust manifolds allowed. No porting, polishing, acid treatment or coatings. All Exhaust pipes must extend past driver seat.
RADIATOR: Only one radiator must be in stock location. No cutting of hood for clearance. Aluminum radiator is allowed. Racing radiator cap is allowed.
FUEL: Gasoline only. Racing fuel allowed. No additives allowed. No alcohol.
FUEL PUMP: Must be stock OEM style fuel pump. Carter and Holley manual styles are allowed.
FUEL CELL : Must be securely mounted to frame in trunk of car between the rear frame rails. Fuel Cell in a Steel Can is required if cell is dropped down between frame rails. A Plastic Fuel Cell may be used only if complete floor pan is in place. Fuel cell is required, maximum capacity of 22 gallons.
DRIVETRAIN - TRANSMISSION: Any OEM automatic transmission is allowed. Unit must be stock and have a full working torque converter, minimum of 10". Power glides may have 10” torque converter. No direct drives, valved pumps or bleeder style valve bodies. All forward, neutral and reverse gears must be in working order for all automatics except Power glides. Power glides are allowed to have either one or both forward gears, with neutral and reverse in working order. Standard transmissions must be OEM stock three or four speed allowed, with all gears in working order and a minimum of 10.5” clutch, pressure plate and full size stock flywheel. No mini-clutches, Ram couplers or direct drives. Standard transmissions may not use aluminum flywheel of any size. All standard transmissions must have bell housing made of 1/4” thick steel and must cover 180 degrees over the sides and top of the clutch assembly (also referred to as a blow-proof bell housing). No 5-speed or 6-speed standard transmissions, no overdrive transmissions or overdrive units. No Bert, Brinn or internal clutch style transmissions allowed. No ram couplers allowed. Quick-change transmissions or transmission adapters for gear change are not allowed. Car must be self-starting and have working neutral, reverse and ALL forward gears. (ex. 3-speed trans. must have 3 forward working gears.)Transmission fluid coolers are allowed, but may not be mounted exposed in drivers compartment.
DRIVESHAFT: Driveshaft must be steel and must be painted white or silver. Driveshaft must have a steel driveshaft loop (360 degrees) connected to the frame located within 6” of the front driveshaft u-joint. Minimum size of driveshaft loop is 2” x 1/4” or minimum 1” round tubing. No chain loops are allowed as driveshaft loops.
REAR-END: Rear-end must be OEM stock. Any gear ratio allowed as long as no altering of housing is required to allow for installation. (Note: 8.5 GM Rear-end may replace 7.5 GM Rear-end for durability purpose. 9" Ford rear-end ok). Axles must be locked together at all times with mini-spool or welded. No posi-trac, limited slip, Detroit locker or full spool allowed.
BRAKES: After-market racing brake pedal and single racing master cylinder are allowed. No aluminum brake calipers or suspension braking components. Cars must have a minimum of three (3) functioning brakes. If four brakes are installed, a cut-off valve may be used on one of the brakes, which may not be in the driver's compartment. Adjustable proportioning valves are not allowed. If using three brakes, the fourth brake components need not be present other than rotor, which you can remove outer portion. Rear Disc brakes are allowed with steel components only and with only a single piston caliper.
STEERING: Quick steer boxes of any type or style allowed. Complete OEM stock steering system for year, make and model, from the steering box to the spindles, including steering gear box must be used. Cast iron steering box only. After-market steering shaft and quick release steering wheel is allowed. Steering wheel spacer allowed to a maximum of 3”thick. Any stock OEM power steering pump allowed, aftermarket power steering pumps ok. : No modifying of the suspension is allowed. Upper control arm brackets may be moved for caster and camber adjustment. Cannot move lower A-frames. OEM suspension parts only. No cutting, welding or bending of frame to accommodate suspension changes. Suspension parts must remain absolutely stock for that year, make and model of car. This includes spindles, rotors, upper control arms, lower control arms, ball joints, tie rods, tie rod sleeves, center link, pitman arm, idler arm, steering box and trailing arms. All upper/lower trailing arm & upper/lower control arm bushings must be present. Front upper/lower control arms bushings may be replaced with steel after-market. No mono-ball, bearing type or offset bushings. Rear upper/lower trailing arms may use aftermarket rubber bushings and cannot be drilled. Bolt on Spindle Savers are allowed. Upper Control Arm can be strengthened with a maximum of 3/8 inch cold roll or rebar along the outer lip within the groove. Steel IMCA Stock Car A-Arm part # 91034394 left/right may be used. Option IMCA upper control arms permitted and non metallic will be allowed to run steel non adjustable upper A-Arms must be OEM length. Racing springs may be used. Rear coil spring must not extend through the stock spring bucket and the maximum spring length is 13 inches. Adjustable spring spacers are allowed on front and rear, no jack-bolts. Steel leaf springs only, may be after market, may use lowering blocks. Any steel non-jack bolt type leaf spring shackles are allowed, including multi-hole, no sliders. Springs must be mounted in OEM location. Shocks must be steel OEM replacement shocks. Shocks must be mounted using the OEM stock mounts in the factory installed location. No heims on shocks allowed. No shock adapters.
SUSPENSION Exception: SPRINGSSHOCKS: ROLL CAGE: Roll bars must be constructed of 1.5” x .095” steel tubing minimum. Main roll bar and halo must be a minimum of 1” higher than the driver’s helmet. Minimum of three (3) door bars on the driver side and a minimum of two (2) door bars on the passenger side. A single bay bar per side is allowed, and may not extend past the idler arm or the steering box. Two vertical bars may be attached to each bay bar to the frame. Maximum size is 1.5” inch O.D., .095” tubing. The center of the roll cage and driver's seat may be no further back than the third (3rd) body mount bushing frame hole for metric frames, and no less than 25" inches forward of rear axle centerline on all other cars. All roll cage welds must be complete and pass safety inspection by tech officials. Floor pan may be cut for cage and sub- frame connectors, but must be replaced by a minimum of 20 gauge steel. X-bracing under the driver (frame-to-frame) is allowed. Adjustable spring spacaers allowed F and R.If you have Jack Bolts,they must be welded and non adjustable.
NERF BARS: A single nerf bar is allowed on each side. Maximum size 1.5” x .095”. May be attached to main cage only at the front and rear section of the nerf bar. This means only two (2) attachment points are allowed. No open tubing allowed. Tubing must be capped or rounded with no sharp edges. No nerf bars are allowed on the rear outside quarter panel area. Nerf bars may not extend outside of tires.
WINDSHIELD BARS: A minimum of three vertical windshield bars are required. Must be a minimum of 3/8” diameter steel and mounted in front of the driver.
TIRES: Any brand DOT radial tire is allowed. Allowable sizes are 225/60, 235/60, 245/60, 255/60, 275/60, also may run American Racer KK704 or Hoosier IMCA stamped G60. Asphalt Pulloff F-40 Hoosier (Must Durameter 51 or greater) Grooved and siped tires are allowed. No softening of tires. (All tires must meet minimum 50).
WHEELS: Any 8” width steel wheel. Any offset from 2” through 5” is allowed. After-market 5/8” lug studs are recommended. 1” diameter lug nuts are required. Wheel spacers are not allowed with stock studs. Wheel adapters are not allowed. No screws allowed. A protective outer ring is allowed to be welded to the outer lip of the wheel with a maximum size .5” O.D., round or square is allowed. A flat bar of 1.25” may also be used. Bead lock placed on right rear only.
INTERIOR: Any oil or transmission fluid coolers in the driver’s compartment must be configured to shield the driver in case of leaks. The cooler lines must be encased in tubing, rubber or steel may be used.
BODIES: Any steel factory style OEM body is permitted, and must have *factory hood, truck, and roof. May replace lower fenders, doors, and quarter panels 4 inches (minimum) below body line with aluminum. (see body diagram pg. 8) Bodies must remain in stock location, or be proportionate to stock location when using an alternate body. Frame must remain square and to factory specs. No Roof Rake. No Late-Model. No Wide-Bodies. Enclosure required at rear bumper to trunk lid. Fuel Cell should not be visible. Doors must be welded or bolted shut. Doors may be gutted for cage installation. All glass, plastic, fiberglass and trim must be removed from racecar. Upholstery and plastic portion of the dash must be completely removed. No gutting of steel interior except for hood and trunk. (See Floor for gutting Exceptions) A-Posts may be trimmed and cleaned up to allow for engine set back, but must be reinforced. Window Post may not be removed.
FENDERS: Fenders may be cut for tire clearance only and fender must be within 7” of the tire. Front inside fender wells must be removed. Rear Fender wells may be removed.
FIREWALL: Firewalls may be stock or made of 20 gauge steel. Firewall must be complete, from fender to fender, top to bottom, deck to floor pan, all holes closed with 20 ga. steel. Firewall may not be further than 40 inch back from the first frame mounting bolt (closest to the front bumper) of the steering box. The firewall may be rolled back to allow for distributor clearance not more than 6 inches. Note: If driver's compartment is enclosed, and decking is in place, the rear firewall may be removed and replaced no less than 25" inches forward of rear axle centerline on all makes and models, with a minimum 20 gauge steel behind the driver /passenger area to ensure the safety of driver.
FLOOR: Floorboards must remain in car. All rusted portions of the floorboard must be replaced with minimum 20 gauge steel. The floor pan must remain stock from front firewall to no less than 25" inches forward of rear axle centerline on all makes and models, and must fully extend from left rocker panel to right rocker panel.
BUMPERS: Stock OEM bumpers are required. Option: After-market plastic bumpers may replace stock OEM bumper. A maximum of 2 in. x 3 in. rectangular tubing or 1 ¾ in. round tubing should be used to support plastic bumper. Bumper loops are required to protect radiator, fuel tank and to be used by wrecker for tow hooks. Maximum 1.5” x .095” steel tubing, maximum 8” tall and not wider than the frame and mounted to the frame or bumper only.
HOOD:* Steel Hood/Trunk Required, No Aluminum. Hood may be hulled and must remain in place at all times. Hood must be pinned. No holes allowed in the hood: therefore no working hood scoops. Any holes in hood must be covered by steel. Quick release hood pins and rear deck pins are required. Hood must make a complete seal dashboard and/or firewall. The engine compartment must not be visible from driver’s seat. *Aluminum hood allowed but must add 100 lbs.
SPOILER: Not to exceed 6” and must be attached to rear of trunk lid only. May not extend past the width of the car. Spoiler supports may not be taller than spoiler and may not be longer than 12 inches. Spoiler may be made of aluminum, steel, or Lexan. No Raised Body Lips, Side-Spoilers, or wings on any part of the car. No Window Spoilers.
IGNITION SWITCH: All cars must have ignition switch clearly labeled. The car must be equipped with a kill switch to be located within reach when standing outside of the car and easily accessible to emergency personnel.
BATTERY : Only one twelve volt (12v) battery allowed. Battery and battery box must be securely mounted to car and safely sealed. Battery must be completely encased in an enclosed battery box.
DRIVER LOCATION: Driver must be located in the original OEM seat location on the left side of the vehicle only. No back seat mounting of driver’s seat.
Protest of $250 per item.

LIMITED MODIFIEDS: Limited Modified will follow the IMCA Southern Sport Mod rules except: Do not need to join IMCA; do not need stickers; can use full roller rocker arms; rods with cap screws are acceptable; tires – Hoosier 500H 500 or G60 AR 500; minimum 50 durometer before race; minimum 45 durometer after race; no claim rule will follow Lonestar protest rule; and any header is acceptable. Limited Modified rules will remain the same as IMCA Southern Sport Mod rules with the following exceptions: 2014 Limited Modifieds will be allowed to run full roller rockers with roller tips and 7/16 rocker studs at SPEEDARAMA. No roller cams, roller lifters or stud girdles allowed. If additional changes are made by IMCA when their rules are published in December for 2014, Speedarama will adapt those changes.

JR. MINI STOCK RULES: Must be minimum of 12 years of age and not older than 16 years of age. We must have a copy of your child's birth certificate for our records. If a driver is racing and during that race season he/she turns 17, they will be allowed to complete the remainder of the season. All drivers must have a good working knowledge of how to operate a car and all required safety procedures before entering onto the racing surface. It will be the sole responsibility of the parent to see that your child has the working knowledge to enter onto the racing surface safely. Notarized release forms must be completed before being allowed to race.
Notice: All components are subject to inspection and approval of track officials. All rules will be interpreted by track officials. If you have any questions about rules, call before building the car.
CHASSIS: Car must be 1962 or newer with 4-cylinder motor. Trucks are allowed. Front or rear wheel drive allowed. Cars must be stock appearing as they come from the factory. No sharp edges allowed on bumpers, to loops allowed on bumpers not to exceed width of frame. Aftermarket plastic front nosepieces allowed. Stock floor pan must be in car unaltered unless repairs have been made due to rust or crash damage and then all repairs must be made with steel. No aluminum in floor pan. Fire wall and trunk floor must be retained also. Wheelbase must be stock for that make and model car.
BODY: Front fender wells may be removed if the shock or strut is not connected to it. No gutting of car. Fenders may be trimmed for tire clearance. Rear inner fender wells must remain in car. Hole allowed in the hood for air filter only. No spoilers allowed unless it was a factory item. Routine maintenance of the appearance of your car is required.
ROLL CAGE: Minimum 4-point cage with x bracing required. 3 door bars on driver's side and 2 door bars on passenger side are required. Roll cage bars may run from front or rear of car but must not extend outside of body anywhere. All cages are to be constructed with the driver's utmost safety in mind. All welds must be complete and done by a trained welder. If you are not one when building your car, find someone because your child's safety depends on it! Rub rails are permitted and may be attached to body. Must not extend past rear of front fender or front or rear fender and be no larger diameter than 1x2 box tubing or 1 1/2 round tubing.
SUSPENSION: Must remain stock from factory. No interchaning of leaf or coil springs. No aftermarket suspension parts. No weight jacks of any type permitted. Lowering blocks on leaf spring cars will be permitted not to exceed 3 inches (lowering blocks must be equal on both sides). Upper and lower control arms must remain unaltered and be for make and model of vehicle. All shocks and struts must remain in stock location.
STEERING: Steering box must be stock and in original location. Steering may be quickened and a quick release steering wheel is permitted.
REAR END: Must be O.E.M. rear. Locking of rear is permitted.
BRAKES: All cars must have at least 3 wheel brakes. No aftermarket pedals or master cylinders or proportioning valves allowed.
TIRES & WHEELS: Tires must be a passenger car type capable of having road hazard warranty and be for street use only. Must be D.O.T. approved and not exceed a 70 series in size. Any steel wheel 7 inches wide or less allowed. No beadlocks.
WEIGHT: All cars must weigh minimum2400 lbs after the race including driver.
ENGINES: All engines must remain stock from factory. 2.3 liter on Fords, 2.4 liter on foreign, and 2.5 liter on GM. Twin overhead cams NOT ALLOWED, turbo charged engines NOT ALLOWED. Bore size not exceed .060 over stock. Heads and block can be milled. Rods and crankshaft must remain stock for size and year of motor. No aluminum heads allowed unless it came on that vehicle and no porting allowed. All valve sizes must remain stock. Stock stroke to be retained on all engines. Cam must be capable of producing 15 in. of vacuum at 900 RPM. All engines must remain in stock location. Solid motor mounts permitted and strongly advised. No headers allowed. All exhaust must be directed behind rear of driver's seat. No porting allowed. All valve sizes must remain stock. Stock stroke to be retained on all engines. CARBURETORS: Any 2 bbl carburetor allowed not to exceed 500 CFM. Choke horn must be in place but flap may be removed. Fuel injection type vehicles must be stock for make and model with no modifications allowed. No turbo charges are allowed. Electric fuel pumps will be allowed. Must have a cut off switch that kills fuel pump if vehicle loses oil pressure to prevent fuel pump to continue to run in the event of a roll over. This will be MANDATORY on all electric fuel pump cars.
IGNITION: Stock type ignition only. Only one battery is allowed and if in driver's compartment, must be securely mounted in an enclosed batter box. Gel cell batteries strongly advised. All cars must also have a battery disconnect switch mounted in easy access of all safety personnel that will kill all the electrical system when activated to protect the driver in the event of fuel loss during a crash or rollover.
SAFETY: This class will abide by the same general safety rules in place for all other classes. Fire suits, gloves, neck braces and window nets are required. Roll bar padding is strongly advised. All helmets must be current and have the appropriate safety ratings. Racing seats with a 5-point seat belt required. Fuel cell is required and must be securely mounted in all cars with the exception of fuel-injected vehicles. If stock tank is to be used in fuel injected cars it must be securely enclosed to prevent damage and fuel loss in the event of a crash. Stock fuel tanks must have a steel skid plate, minimum thickness of 1/8 inch, to protect bottom of tank. Fuel cells are strongly recommended in this type of car as well. If car has weight added it must be safely and securely fastened with minimum 1/2" bolts, painted white and the car number on the weights.
DRIVE LINE: No aluminum flywheels, mini clutches or couplers allowed. Must run stock clutch and pressure plate. Must have hole in bell housing for inspection purposes. Safety shield is required over bell housing to protect driver. All automatic transmissions must have a working stock diameter torque converter. Transmission coolers allowed. All rear wheel drive cars must have a drive shaft loop. All drive shafts must be painted white.
The rules that are in place may be amended at any time for the betterment of the class. This class will have hot laps, heat, and feature races. Trophies/plaques will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place finishes in the feature.
